Biography, selected works and an official point of contact for Certificate of Authenticity enquiries.
A painter shaped by Armenia, colour and an artistic family.
Mher Chatinyan is an Armenian painter born in Vanadzor in 1989. He belongs to a family of artists: his father, Hamlet Chatinyan, and his grandfather, Albert Chatinyan, were both painters.
Chatinyan graduated in 2010 from the Faculty of Painting and Graphics at Vanadzor State Pedagogical Institute. He has exhibited regularly since 2006 and has taken part in artistic symposia in Gyumri, Tbilisi and Slovakia.
His practice moves between landscape, portrait, still life and figurative painting. Armenian mountains, village life and remembered places recur through a language of saturated colour, free brushwork and strong linear structure.
